pharmaceuticals!

it has recently occurred to me that so many bizarre things happen to me each day at school that i'm starting to lose my bearings in a way. here are 3 baby shanannegans that i did remember.
1. pharmaceuticals:
so this new kid comes to class and he's super nice and very respectful, and applies himself to all his work and is generally awesome. so when we have the time that we share our positive moments called "good times," he goes, "i got paid yesterday, and on monday, and i'm getting paid tomorrow." i said, "wow, that's great. where do you work (like a dummy)." and he goes, "let's just say i'm in pharmaceuticals. moral: be glad your students have a diverse vocabulary despite the things they say.
2. locked up:
so we're sharing our warm-ups about "times when you like someone you were unable to be with or who your parents didn't like" as an intro to romeo and juliet. so this girl goes, "one time i liked this guy and my mom didn't like him." "why not?" i wondered. "because he had been locked up. but then we kept hanging out and then eventually my mom started calling him son." "so what happened to end it," i said. "oh, he got locked up."

3. mayo-mazing:
so i went to get in my car and i saw an empty package of mayonaise balanced perfectly on my windshield wipers. i don't know what this means, but it must mean something.

all in all things are going well, and i'm just trucking on til spring break. a little under the weather today, but i got to spend the day in bed watching dallas (and i get tomorrow off as well!). booyah. best dallas quote: "how come when you take me to lunch all i get is a soda and a taco?"
