luxury

everything is so luxurious now that i'm not rushing to get stuff done for school, even if it's just normal stuff. like just now i was going to sleep and i was waked up by thunder and lightning. rather than getting mad and thinking about how tomorrow my life is going to suck because i'm going to be too tired, i got up and ate a snack and milled around on the internet. it's so awesome! it's like i'm some kind of queen or something. i don't even have to set an alarm clock!

i wound up getting to the gym at like 10 rather than in the afternoon. the man in the lane next door said, "be careful with her (the woman i was sharing a lane with) she's really old. she's all over the place." after hearing this, and seeing her make vague, menacing hand signals from the other end, i just went outside and laid out. and then when i finally did come back, the same man said, "i almost came to tell you the lane was free." it was the most posi thing ever. he had to be like 65 and wore his gold chain in the pool. he wasn't even being creepy though! he also said, that i'm invited to share lanes with him in the future because i'm "a peaceful swimmer that doesn't splash."

the old lady in the next door lane tried to set me up with the man she was sharing her lane with. he was wearing sunglasses in the pool and wouldn't put his head under water. i could never be with someone who did crap like that. then she started talking about how tall women have better sex. this wouldn't have caught me so off guard but she had just told me that she's 87 and we were practically yelling because we both had earplugs. she later held up the line because she was flirting with the high school boy who took membership cards.

there was lots of hugging between fellow swimmers and a general posi-vibe felt by all. made me want to skip the whole meat part of life and retire. it also made me think about how many experiences the people swimming had collectively had and how we were all kind of swimming through it. one more highlight was the flower swim cap sighting. reminds you that sometimes life just roolz!

today at work my coworker yelled to a golden girl walking by..."girl i love your eyebrows!"
the golden girl walked over and started whispering...but it was a bad whisper and i heard it all....said the golden girl "oh you're lovely, thank you..i just had them tattooed! i'm 81 and just getting my first tattoo!" they laughed for a moment and then she walked off

this makes me yearn for a hobbie that involves interaction with fellow hobbiers who would be complete strnagers if it were not for our joint interest in unknown hobbie.
