today i was on the attendance appeal committee. if kids miss more than 8 days they can appeal to still pass the class. the first person was very fancy and said basically that his kid had no excuse and please have mercy and the kid went to therapy once or some. one family said their kid kept throwing up, but that he needed glasses. when asked when they found this out, they said, "in the summer." one girl had just had a baby, and was already asking for her makeup work.
i didn't know what to say to any of it so i just watched and nodded. it was kind of the way i felt when i first heard boomhauer talk.
