if there's one sea creature i fear the most, however irrationally, it's the baleen whale! images of said whale keep popping up through my life, scaring the crap out of me. i vividly remember being petrified by a picture of one in a kids animal book and then later doing an illustration of one for this book jacket project. then today, i was helping with the kids at church (i was assigned to the rowdy 6th grade boys who farted) and i realized i was standing right next to the mouth of a painting of a baleen whale. OH THE HORROR! those filters! squished out in tiny pieces! can you have an anti-totem animal?!
