i recently assigned this assignment in response to this radio program "Ghetto 101" and the book Our America. the students made these collages about what america is like to them, and then they all looked at them and wrote responses about the future of america. these are 3 of the most absurd! p.s. spelling/grammar is kept intact:
1.
"I'm confused about the future of America because of what the government is planning for the future. The government is planning to take away the money system and combine Canada, US, Mexico to make one country causing the constitution to be absoulute and throwing away are rights as citizens. In may 2008 there making us have Federal I.D. and thats going to turn into a chip thats going to be put in your arm. Are bankers ever going to bankrupt America again like they did in the past? America younger generation is not learning as good as the rest of the country so what going to America in the future. That's why I am so confused about the future of America."
2.
"I am afraid for the future of his country. There is so much violence in the world. A couple months ago, I was at a friend's house for the night and thre was shooting going on while we were trying to sleep. Also, my teacher Mr. Gunter almost got shot. Another reason is because scientests are getting stupid. They are trying to figure out how protons are created, but if there experiment goes wrong it could create a black Hole and engulf the earth. Why would they do that if they know they could fail? They are going to try anyway."
3.
"I am worried for the future of this country, because the upcoming election could be a good or bad thing. Also that gas prices could rise is Macain is elected. The reason why I say this is that if Mcain is elected the same thing will happen with Bush. Why you may ask because Mcain agrees with Bus 96 percent of the time. If we really want change in Something new, we need to start with someone different. That's why I saw choose Obama. He's up for something new. As I say choose Obama lose the drama."
