o.o.c. (out of control)

dudes.
i can't make myself go to bed at a reasonable hour!
for the first half of the school year i went to be from 9.30 p.m. to 5.30 a.m.
recently i've been going to bed from 10 p.m. to 5.05 a.m.
since break i haven't gone to sleep before midnight (went to sleep at 3 last night for no real reason)
and haven't gotten up before 10 except for church.
i love it.
i can't stop eating sweet treats either.

treasure treats

i haven't felt well this week so far (tis' the season for kidz to be puking) and today i was running around like a chicken with its head cut off. it was just one of those days that the qualities in other human beings which i sometimes find interesting or even endearing were driving me up the wall (e.g. that kid that won't take her hood off until you come over and say a prayer and ask with all the niceness you can muster). i felt like tiny fires were going up around me all day and my squirt gun was out of water. this just part of living but i was just running on auto-pilot.

anyway, i had to run by the store and there was an old woman in front of me. she had on an all black outfit (with the shirt tucked in) and huge glasses (even bigger than the cool-hipster-american-apparel-style jammers). i didn't notice it at first, but she opened her m&ms as she was checking out and was eating them already. i immediately felt like i was privvy to some secret joke or shared appreciation of unspoken things in life. i felt like myself again and not like a broken shell of a woman.

i heard a quote one time about how work turns man into a machine. i think it was emerson who wrote it, but i couldn't find it. sometimes i feel like that, like a dang ol' workhorse, but little treasure treats like drinking your slurppee while you wait in line or you know raindrops on roses or whatever gets you in the ol' heart area can help transform you back.

p.s. i dunno who's granny this is, but she looked so rad i had to put her up there.
