i oscillate between two main ideas about my life at this point. idea 1: that teaching is truly the best outlet for my talents and weaknesses to play out and even though there are tough times, most of it is just getting used to being a grown up lady. idea 2: i am really supposed to be pursuing some outlet with the artistic stuff i enjoy most, and don't because i value academics as more admirable than arts. . . or i don't give myself enough credit to true something that deviates from the sense of responsibility impressed on me my entire life. probably the truth falls somewhere in between.

really, what happened was i have to get new tires and i got really pissed off because i dipped into my savings last paycheck because i wasn't paying attention and i'm trying to save some dough to backpack in europe with rachel pryor next summer. i get pissed because i make a lot of money and don't really buy anything, but i guess it just doesn't stretch as far as i figured. i should be stoked on being able to be financially independent and not a whiner, but i guess it's all part of the process. overly dramatic life moment of the day: check! p.s. these are pictures from my favorite place to bowl, bowl*a*rama.

that's our favorite spot too, next to Purple Rain of course! Kids have no idea what they are saying, and no tact either. I fell on my butt in class yesterday because I was sitting on the edge of the seat and leaned a little too forward!! Fortunately the kids were concerned and not making fun of me...at least to my face! I hope teaching is your calling, but only you know will know that answer. They say the first year is the hardest though...no matter what, this is a great growing experience for us!
Being an adult is kind of stressful. Be mindful of where you spend your money. That backpacking trip is gonna be way better than that cheeseburger or new t-shirt. Keep your head up.
