okay, so i have been a kind of bogus blogger at this point because i took and accidental sabbatical from posting cause i was experiencing too much teacher work freak out. so here's a photographic update! and also, i'm trying to bring back the use of the word booyah as a christmas present to myself.
1. teaching is going well. sometimes i get hugged. sometimes people curse at me and flip over a desk. all in all, things are rad but hard and very fulfilling. i would post a picture of my class looking sharp for their speeches, but it's technically illegal because, well, their children for pity's sake and someone might steal them.
2. i live in this sweet house with 3 sweet roomies. here are a few of the views, our house, the santa, and my plants. it's peaceful living and we can control our house's temperature! imagine that! and there's a washer dryer. blessings galore!

2. i've gotten to hang hard with lots of gracious friends since i've been out of school (gracious because my hang out time during a school week sucks). i'm so stoked to be able to be around friends and family this year, i think even more than ever because i know how many people have such a hard go of things, and have like zero support systems. anyway, here are some sweet things i've gotten to be a part of:
happy bday josh conner celebration:

3. happy christmas todd webb style at the thunder dome: (complete with vhs fireplace!)

4. TRINIDADIAN CHRISTMAS BASH (with camille and the sylvester-williams family):

5. 1st annual carter cookout at the new house w/friends feat. cutie rjp, alex, and jeff among tons of other dooders:

highlights include this dood that's riding his bike around the world showing up. his name is charlie and he has spoke cards with his info on em. booyah!

6. also, we had carter family christmas and it was super chill and amazing. kitty is such a little jammer, and talks a ton and can dance like nobody's business. my mom bought me tickets to this hank williams play which i really wanted, but would have forgotten about or been broke in the spring when the play will happen. i bought kitty pink converse. there has been so much more squealing and yelling and laughing since she showed up.

7. 7. 7.one other sweet thing that happened was that dragonsaur played, and even though the show ended up with stupid and messed up stuff going down, it was amazing to see friends. and they let me sing on the stage like a danggone rocknroll start and it was sweet. and i got to hug so many people including my buddy vaughn who swept through town on his many adventures and quick taught me how to texas two step. life roolz! and now i'm in richmond with maggie, and i get to see blue and brent to ring in the new year in danville va. life is really sweet right now, despite a kind of tough go of things professionally (meaning, teaching is intense, but i feel i'm in the right place and feel so blessed out the wazoo!!) here's to new years, and more consistent blogging! xoxoo! p.s. if i didn't mention how much fun you are, just give me time.

I'm a big fan of the word "RAD" (as well as the movie)so your use of it in this post made me smile. I also use Booyah from time to time. I hope next semester is calmer for you. 1st annual Carter Christmas Cookout was rocking. I'm gonna have caramelized onions perfected for next year's bash.
